Standardized tests don't have to take over your family’s life. I offer one-on-one SAT and ACT prep that meets students where they are, focuses on the highest-impact strategies, and builds real confidence instead of burnout. Your teen gets clear, step-by-step guidance. You get honest feedback, realistic expectations, and support at every stage of the process.

Why 1:1 Test Prep?
Most families come to me feeling at least one of these:
-
“We don’t know where to start with SAT vs ACT.”
-
“My teen is smart, but their scores don’t show it.”
-
“We tried online courses, but nothing stuck.”
-
“We need structure, accountability, and someone our teen will actually listen to.”
- "The stress of preparing for these tests is hurting my relationship with my child."
There is no one-size-fits-all plan. Your student’s strengths, attention span, learning style, and goals are unique. My job is to figure out what will move the needle for your student and then walk with them through the entire process so that they’re never guessing what to do next.
How My 1:1 Test Prep Works
Step 1: Establish a clear starting point
Step 2: Build a custom game plan
Step 3: Have high-impact lessons
Step 4: Practice with feedback
Step 5: Receive ongoing support & adjustments
ACT Prep with Bonnie
The ACT has changed: students now must choose between online vs. paper and decide whether they want the Science section. It’s more complex than ever, but I help families make smart, informed decisions.
In ACT sessions, students learn to:
-
Choose the right ACT format for how their brain works.
-
Understand the benefits and drawbacks of the Enhanced ACT.
-
Master pacing and timing.
-
Strengthen English, Math, Reading, and Science skills in a targeted, efficient way.
-
Stay calm, focused, and in control during every section.
We train specifically for the version of the ACT that gives your teen the best chance of success.
SAT Prep with Bonnie
SAT prep is not about endless practice tests. It’s about learning how to use the SAT’s digital tools and patterns to your advantage.
In SAT sessions, students learn how to:
-
Navigate Bluebook confidently.
-
Use Desmos strategically to reduce errors and save time.
-
Approach Reading & Writing without memorizing huge vocab lists.
-
Recognize trap answers and recurring question types.
-
Build efficient math strategies — when to plug in, estimate, or use the calculator.
By test day, your teen knows exactly how to move through each section, where to spend time, and what to skip.
“Our son actually looked forward to his weekly sessions, which shocked us. Bonnie kept him engaged, laughing, and focused, and his scores climbed far more than we expected. We're very happy and would hire Bonnie again in a heartbeat.”

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we start?
Most students benefit from starting 3–6 months before their first test. Some need more time for bigger score increases. I’ll walk you through a realistic timeline.
SAT or ACT — which is better?
It depends on your teen’s strengths, pacing, stress response, and preferences. I'll help you make a confident decision instead of guessing.
How often do you meet with students?
Most meet twice per week, depending on when the test date is and the score desired.
Do you work with students who have ADHD or anxiety?
Yes! In fact, many of my students have been diagnosed with learning differences. I adjust pacing, structure, and strategies to help them succeed without overwhelm. I have worked with students with ADHD, anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, vision issues, and much more.
Do you guarantee a score increase?
No ethical tutor does. But I do guarantee a clear plan, personalized instruction, honest communication, and consistent support.
What are your working hours?
I’m available on weekdays from roughly 10am–9pm CST. I don’t work weekends since a rested tutor = better sessions and better results.
Do you work with international students?
Absolutely. I work with students across multiple time zones and will help create a schedule that works smoothly alongside school and activities.
